ChoirBLAST 2024
ChoirBLAST is a celebration of contemporary choirs, first held in Godalming, Surrey in 2023 with 26 choirs. The 2024 event had double that number across seven stages, and Seer Green Singers (and our sister choir Village Voices) were among them. As many as 4,000 people were expected to attend. Seer Green Singers performed a set on the Bee stage at 12:00, and then a joint set with Village Voices at the Bandstand at 14:30. The weather was (relatively) kind to us, with only a few spots of rain, and quite a lot of warm sunshine. It was great to be able to celebrate our passion for singing with so many other like-minded people across an entire day. |
The day started with a Flash Mob, gathering initially at the St Peter & St Paul's church and wandering along a path connecting all the ChoirBLAST venues. The challenge in over a hundred people wandering along a narrow path and singing Shake it Off (Taylor Swift), is everyone staying in time. We didn't. It was hilarious. But when we finally gathered in the Field (below) we managed to harmonise for the final verse.
At 12:00 Seer Green Singers performed our set of five songs on the Bee stage
And then at 14:30 we joined with our sister choir, Village Voices, to perform another five-song set.
